The challenge

Causal, an all-in-one business planning platform for FP&A teams, needed to unify data from hundreds of payroll, accounting, and HRIS sources. A prior unified API solution provided integrations that accessed only a limited scope of data from third-party systems.

The solution

Causal built to Merge's Unified API, integrating 29 HRIS providers and 4 major accounting providers in about three weeks each.

We initially used Finch (another unified API solution) to build out HRIS integrations, but the quality of their integrations were pretty poor. For instance, unlike Merge, their integrations can only access a limited scope of data from 3rd-party systems.
