The challenge

As a beauty retailer without an app, Credo Beauty saw a gap against customer expectations. With a small team, leadership was concerned about launching and managing an app without additional headcount or heavy development spend, while integrating its existing stack of Yotpo, Nosto, Tolstoy and Abra.

The solution

Credo built a content-forward app with a Discover Feed and Journal for education, used push notifications as an owned performance channel, applied smart merchandising with conditional tags for gift-with-purchase management, and integrated Yotpo loyalty and Nosto search and recommendations.

I never expected early access to a product to beat some promos, but the app-only early-access push was more successful than most of our promo pushes—it changed our strategy.
